We were worried when we were setting up as the weather was grim, but by the time it was race time, the sun was out! Everyone's mood was lifted and there was an excited chatter at the start line. At 11am the gun sounded and the runners were off remembering to turn right up the hill for the 5 mile and left for the 10 mile. There were many comments about how lovely the views were as they were running along.
Well done to Aden Bell for coming in 3rd in the 5 mile race with an amazing time of 28:32. Congratulations to Crystal Murry, Vicky Tapp, Nathalie Hooper, Geraldine Suckling, Sam Cooper, Tracey Squirrell and Sue Wilkinson who also ran the 5 miles.
Andrew Turner and Belinda Godbold ran the 10 miles in fantastic times. Well done to Belinda who came first in her age group.
There was a great turnout from the Juniors who ran a 2k course. It was definitely a sea of Red! Elissia Bell came first in the GU10 age group as did Thomas Davis in the BU14 group.
Congratulations to Thomas Davis who came 2nd overall and Daniel Cooper who came 3rd.
What a fantastic day and wouldn't have been made possible if it wasn't for all the help that goes on behind the scenes.
