Suffolk Winter League Cross Country 2026-27
FIXTURES AND VENUES
The Suffolk Winter League Cross Country is a series of six races run during the winter months. Held on Sunday mornings, it is only open to paid up members of Suffolk running clubs.
All races are held on Sundays at 11am. All you need to do to enter is book onto the ConnectmyClub app and turn up at the venue in your Hadleigh Hares kit. Kit must be worn for the cross country races. To buy kit please email secretary@hadleigh-hares.co.uk.
Age Groups:

Junior age groups (U17, U15, U13) are determined by the runners age on 31st August 2026

Senior age groups are determined by the runners age on the date of the first race in the series (26th October 2026).

Rule change for 2025/6: Men and Women age groups are aligned, the youngest veteran age group is V40. Women V35 is no longer a category.

Runners must be aged 17+ (on 26th October 2026) to take part in a senior race (age 16 on 26th October 2026 must run in the junior race).

RUNNERS REMAIN IN THE SAME AGE CATEGORY FOR THE WHOLE SERIES regardless of any ‘significant’ birthdays that may occur over the course of the winter.
You can turn up on the day if you wake up and decide to come along but please remember to book on the app before you arrive. You can try one event, or join in them all.
Junior races usually start at 10.45am.
Race distances are around 5 miles for adults, 4km or 2.5 miles maximum for juniors.
To qualify for individual prizes, athletes must compete at 4 out of the 6 races.

SCORING

First man to cross the line scores maximum points eg 400, 2nd 399, 3rd 398, etc

First women to cross the line scores 250 points, 2nd 249, 3rd 248, etc. The maximum score is flexible on the basis of the size of the field at each race.

Scoring teams - 7 men and 4 women.

Overall team score is aggregate of men's and women's scores - example 4th and 1st = 5 points.

Incomplete teams incur penalty points - total number of men or women finishers plus 1 point for each missing runner.

No club colours, no points.
